1997 Ford F 150 4.6 97 expedition Heater Core replacement instructions

Shopping list of FORD dealer, $ 15.00 for 2 sets of heater hose o-rings and clips, $ 40.00 heater core, snap (cheaper aftermarket parts store at the dealer, but no guarantee model preferred by many @ $ 55) insulated foam tape new core with wrap (parts dept just gave me what I needed), and a gallon of anti freeze.
1. tying from the aerial cable to an old shoelace was a great little trick that made the rebuilding of a module, allowed antenna cable to pull out of the hole really easy. I also used elect tape, didn't "surprises" later!
2. remove the heater hose removal tool from a mechanic willing to loan it out to u. I was amazed at the helping hand the dealer mechs were. The tool took a few minutes to find out. Took a second trip back to the Ford dealer for replacement o-rings and clamps. Save time, buy this cause you will first break the originals, if you do not, anyway, em your change in this deep! 2-A another method without use of the tool is just cutting off the inlet and exhaust pipes of the heater core with a saws-all and the hose/pipe from pulling the engine compartment side. This happens after the plenum H-Core has been removed. I got so frustrated without the special tool I almost did this too!!
3. all the steering column and large shot plugs connected choose leave, I unhooked it before the technician Ford advised me not to mess with them.
4. try to follow instructions in reverse the "dash removal" during installation so you do not have "overs" when you didn't stand up well to a screw line. (Don't ask how I now this)
5. get a big box for all parts of the trim.
6. Updated tip to help to find out where all the screws go that I'm recommending an idea of a user of this stove doc who offered this tip. I wish I had used this method myself, had 3 remaining, no rattles. Tip: do you have a helper, have them read out loud the steps while you run them and they also removed the screws in baggies with the corresponding number of the step label moves.
7. I removed the large elect housing is right about the heater core housing to aide in getting the cover installed again, it was in the road when I was the plenum cover, 2 screws, reinstall, no big deal.
