1996 Volkswagen Golf & Circuit Breakers fuses

The fuse Panel is located under the left side of the dash by the driver of the knee Cabriolet, Fox, Jetta, rabbit and Pickup. The Panel is located on the Golf and GTI models by the right knee of the driver, under the dash panel.
Note: on all models, fuse specifications are on inside of the control panel cover.
Warning: disconnect battery ground cable maintenance before you always "high-current fuses. It is recommended that "high-current" fuses may be replaced by a qualified technician.

RADIATOR CAP
Caution: always Unplug the fan motor when working near the fan. The fan is temperature controlled and can start at any time even when the ignition key is in the OFF position. NOT remove radiator Cap loose or when cooling system hot.

REPLACED BLOWN FUSES
Before a blown fuse, remove ignition key, turn off all lights and accessories to avoid damaging the electrical system. Make sure you fuse with the proper amperage indicated rating. The use of an incorrect amperage rating fuse can lead to a dangerous electrical system overload.

BATTERY WARNING
Note: when the battery is disconnected, vehicles equipped with computers memory can lose data. When the battery is restored, handling problems exist on some vehicles can. These vehicles may require a relearn procedure. See COMPUTER RELEARN PROCEDURES article in General in the section information.
