2008 VOLKSWAGEN CITY JETTA

The city has undergone a renewal for 2008 Jetta. The exterior appearance is changed, and inside, the radio and the cladding are changed. The steering wheel is now the same as of the Jetta. The engine remains the same, but the automatic transmission, an option, now has six speeds instead of four. The city Jetta is offered as a four-door sedan.

Interior and trunk
Access to the front is simple. The seats are firmly comfortable, even after a long day of driving, for people of average height or less. However, there is no adjustable lumbar support. Heavily built or high people will find the seats a little narrow and the cushions a tad short. Thanks to the seat adjustments and tilt/telescoping steering wheel, drivers find a good driving position easily. Entering and leaving the back especially requires a bit of flexibility. The sofa is relatively comfortable for two adults, but only if they are of average height or less, because of the limited head and leg room. Already quite spacious, cargo capacity can be expanded by the 60/40-split folding adjustment system. When the adjustment system is folded down on the pillow, the word fors tends upwards to the front. For a flat floor in this area, you must flip the cushion and the headrests removed before the adjustment system fold. The trunk is spacious, the flat floor and storage on each side, very practical storage locations. The trunk opening is good and open the lid relatively high.

Convenience and safety
The cabin is very well finished in good materials. Sound insulation is very good, although engine noise at highway speeds. There are some storage spaces and above all no spacious center console. Gauges and controls well laid out, with the exception of the heating controls, which are too low. The radio buttons are small. In the night, is anything but the glove compartment illuminated.
