1996 Acura SLX Luxury Sport Pickups Owners Manual

The Acura SLX is one of the first luxury-badged sports that sold by the Acura division of Honda from 1995 to 1999, as 1996 to 1999 year models. Sold only in the United States, the SLX was later replaced by the Honda Odyssey-based Acura MDX in 2001, but continued to sell poorly and was ultimately discontinued after 1999. The SLX from 1996 to 1997 had a 3.2-liter V6 gasoline engine with a maximum output of 190 hp and was replaced in 1998 by a 3.5-liter dual overhead cam V6 engine that produced 215 hp. It is said that sales were affected by bad press when the 1996 to 1997 models were rated “Not Acceptable” by Consumer Reports for their tendency to roll over during testing. Based on the successful Isuzu Trooper, the SLX is very similar to its twin. The Acura SLX has other luxury features such as power windows, power door locks, AM/FM stereo sound system with a cassette player, which isn’t a luxury item any longer. It also has two-level heated seats and power fold in exterior mirrors. Why is this important? When we had our full-size van we used to park it in our garage. There are three power pickup points on the SLX to give such accessories as cellular phones, CBs, computers, etc. One of the “standard” features of the luxury sport utilities is a multitude of power pickups. The car is available in two trims, the basic shape and the Premium Package. gethere
